TINY’S DAY – A “PURPLE” HIT – on be half of the Carroll family, and everyone at the club, a huge vote of thanks for everyone who contributed to our collection for Tiny’s Fund last Saturday. Off the pitch the collection for Tiny’s Fund topped £400.00 which was helped out by a donation of over £100.00 from the Chats players and contributions from the three match officials and from club patron Tracey Crouch MP who donated the winnings from the afternoon’s Fifty50 draw!
Sat 3rd November 2012 We welcomed an extremely brave little girl to the Maidstone Road Sports ground as four year old Ella-Louise Carroll was our guest of honour as the club began raising money for “Tiny’s Fund”.
Ella (who’s nickname is “Tiny” – hence the name of the Fund) has complex gastric problems for which there currently isn’t a cure and as a result she has to be fed directly into her stomach by a pipe attached to a container on her back for up to seventeen hours a day!
The whole Carroll family, who come Lordswood, were the clubs guests as the Chats supporters answered the call to turn Maidstone Road purple which is Ella’s favourite colour.
Ella and her eight year old sister Kaci led the Chats out as on the pitch we recorded our first home League win in five games, whilst off the pitch the collection for Tiny’s Fund topped £400.00 which was helped out by a donation of over £100.00 from the Chats players and contributions from the three match officials and from club patron Tracey Crouch MP who donated the winnings from the afternoon’s Fifty50 draw!
After the game, the Carroll’s named player manager Kevin Watson Man of the Match, and were presented with signed special programme front covers from both managers – and we would like to thank Redbridge FC (and especially manager Del Robinson) and Dave Boughton at our printers Scarbutts for their help.
We set out to put a smile on the families face before Ella goes into Great Ormond Street on November 11th, and we all hope that we did just that! We asked our incredible fans to help us back a fantastic cause and they didn’t let us - or more importantly Ella - down! She is an amazing little girl and a true inspiration to us all... We wish her well and will continue to assist in the fund raising starting…
